A complete three phase fit out for workshops and commercial properties starts from $8,000. Energex fees for the supply upgrade are additional and quoted separately. Anthony provides a fixed price written quote on site.
Single phase power delivers electricity on one active conductor at 230V. Three phase delivers electricity on three active conductors at 400V. Three phase provides roughly three times the power capacity of single phase and is required for large motors, commercial equipment, ducted air conditioning and high powered EV chargers.
No. Anthony handles the Energex application, coordinates the meter changeover and manages the process from start to finish. You have one point of contact throughout the entire job.
The electrical work typically takes 1 to 2 days. However the total timeline depends on Energex processing and scheduling the meter changeover which can take 2 to 6 weeks. Anthony submits the application as early as possible to minimise the wait.
In most Brisbane suburbs yes. Three phase power is available from the Energex network in most areas. Anthony checks availability at your address during the site inspection. In some cases the three phase supply may already be at your meter and only needs to be connected and distributed through a new switchboard.
Yes. A single phase switchboard cannot distribute three phase power. A new three phase switchboard with a three pole main switch, individual circuit breakers and safety switches is required. The new board is sized with room for future expansion.
Three phase power itself does not reduce your per-kWh rate. However three phase motors and equipment run more efficiently than single phase equivalents. A balanced three phase system also reduces voltage drop and line losses which can improve overall efficiency, especially for workshops and commercial properties.
Common three phase equipment includes large ducted air conditioners, commercial kitchen appliances, welders, large compressors, lathes, CNC machines, high powered EV chargers above 7kW, large solar inverters and commercial HVAC systems. If the nameplate on your equipment says 400V or three phase it needs a three phase supply.
