QLD Licence 90899 · LED lighting installations since 2016
Want to upgrade to LED downlights, add strip lighting or redesign your home’s lighting layout? SEQ Sparky installs LED lighting across Brisbane Southside. Energy efficient, long lasting and designed to suit your space. Fully licensed, fully insured, quoted on site by Anthony.
Serving homes across Brisbane Southside, Logan, and Redlands.
Halogen downlights run hot, chew through power and blow constantly. Each halogen globe uses 35 to 50 watts compared to 8 to 12 watts for an LED replacement. Switching a home with 20 halogen downlights to LED can save hundreds of dollars a year on your power bill and the globes last up to 10 times longer.
Your home has a single light fitting in the centre of each room leaving the edges dark and the space feeling flat. A properly planned LED downlight layout spreads light evenly across the entire room and eliminates shadowy corners. Kitchen benchtops, bathrooms and home offices benefit the most.
You are renovating your kitchen, bathroom, living area or building new and want a modern lighting design from the start. Getting the lighting layout, switch positions and dimmer controls right during the build avoids cutting into finished ceilings later.
You want the ability to dim your lights, change colour temperature or control your lighting from your phone. Modern LED downlights and strip lighting work with dimmers and smart home systems to give you full control over brightness and mood in every room.
LED lighting is one of the simplest upgrades you can make with the biggest return. Lower power bills, better light quality and a modern look throughout your home.
LED lighting uses up to 80% less energy than halogen and incandescent globes. A full home LED upgrade pays for itself within 12 to 18 months through reduced electricity costs alone. If your switchboard is overloaded from old halogen transformers, switching to LED also frees up circuit capacity.
A quality LED downlight lasts 30,000 to 50,000 hours compared to 2,000 hours for a halogen globe. That means fewer replacements, fewer blown globes in hard to reach spots and less money spent on ladders and electrician callouts over the life of your home.
LED lighting delivers consistent, even light without the yellow tint of old halogens. You can choose warm white for living areas and bedrooms or cool white for kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces. Dimmable LEDs let you adjust the brightness to suit any time of day.
Halogen downlights run at extremely high temperatures and are a known fire risk when installed near ceiling insulation. LED downlights run cool and many are IC-4 rated meaning insulation can be placed directly over them. Upgrading to LED removes a genuine fire hazard from your ceiling. Pairing LED lighting with safety switches on your lighting circuits provides complete electrical protection.

We supply IC-4 rated LED downlights from trusted brands that are safe to install with ceiling insulation. No cheap imports with short lifespans or poor colour consistency.
All LED downlights we supply are dimmable. If you want dimmer switches installed we set them up as part of the job so you have full brightness control from day one.
Every downlight hole is cut with the right tools to the exact size required. No rough edges, no oversized holes and no damage to surrounding ceiling. Clean, precise cutouts every time.
Anthony does the work personally. Not an apprentice. Not a subbie. Not a call centre dispatch. LED downlight installation is electrical work that must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
We plan the layout so light is spread evenly across the room with no dark spots or overlapping bright patches. Spacing, alignment and positioning are set before any holes are cut.
Labour warranty on the install plus full manufacturer warranty on all LED downlights and components fitted.

A small upgrade of up to 6 LED downlights starts from $500 ex GST. A standard home upgrade of 7 to 15 downlights starts from $1,000. Full home LED fit outs with 16 or more lights start from $2,000. Anthony quotes on site with a fixed price in writing before any work begins.
No. In Queensland all electrical work including replacing downlights must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Even if the fitting looks like a simple plug in swap, the wiring, transformer removal and insulation clearance requirements make it licensed electrical work.
Warm white (3000K) is best for living areas, bedrooms and anywhere you want a relaxed feel. Cool white (4000K) suits kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and home offices where you need clear bright light for tasks. Anthony can advise on the best option for each room during the assessment.
IC-4 rated LED downlights are designed to be installed with insulation placed directly over them. Unlike halogen downlights which run extremely hot and require insulation clearance, IC-4 LEDs run cool and meet Australian fire safety standards for direct insulation contact.
Yes. We install LED strip lighting under overhead cabinets, inside display shelving, along kickboards and in any feature location you want. Strip lighting is wired to a switch or dimmer and connected back to your switchboard on an appropriate circuit.
Yes but you need a LED compatible dimmer. Old dimmers designed for halogen or incandescent globes will cause flickering and buzzing with LED lights. We supply and install LED compatible dimmers as part of the job so everything works smoothly from day one.
As a general guide you need one downlight per 1.5 to 2 square metres of floor space. A typical 4 x 5 metre living room would need 8 to 10 downlights for even coverage. Anthony plans the exact layout during the on-site assessment based on room size, ceiling height and how you use the space.
Yes. We can run new wiring from an existing circuit or your switchboard to install downlights in rooms that currently have no ceiling lights or only a single pendant fitting. This involves running cable through the ceiling space and installing a new switch.
LED lights produce very little UV light compared to halogen and incandescent globes which means they attract significantly fewer insects. This makes them a great choice for outdoor entertaining areas, patios and covered decks across Brisbane where bugs are a constant issue.
For new installations and upgrades yes. AS/NZS 3000 requires safety switches on all circuits including lighting. If your lighting circuit does not currently have RCD protection we will recommend adding one as part of the installation.
Fixed price quote within 24 hours. Most installations completed the same day. Call Anthony directly, no call centre, no middleman, no runaround.
